Since 2011, we have been delighted to display the only enlightening and eclectic event of its kind in the great Bayou City! Because of "Melee on the Bayou," Houston, Texas continues to be cited as a profound stage for premier competitors, studios and internationally renown and decorated performers. This is an arena for those that feel that their learned skills should be shared with the masses and judged with the greats of the pole dance world. Expect an event full of exceptional expression and extraordinary feats. This will be nothing less than STELLAR! Prepare yourselves for an evening of intense battle and engaging entertainment. Athleticism, adventure and artistry have always been a recurring characteristic of Ms. Crystal Belcher aka "CryStylez." Crystal has an extensive history of dancing, cheering, co-ed competitive sports and dance fitness. She has been a student of pole, an instructor, personal trainer and choreographer since 2010. After successfully competing and choreographing during the 2010-2011 pole season, Crystal noticed that a void needed to be filled. Houston needed an event that would satisfy the pole enthusiast and would have a positive presence in the pole world. With so many major cities establishing renowned events for pole competitions, it was time for the southwestern region to be recognized.

The purpose of Melee on the Bayou is not solely to bring light to what we do in the privacies of our pole community. This is a platform to applaud and support our students, instructors and studio owners who want to show the city the power, progression and passion that pole dance fitness provides for them on a weekly basis. This is also a great arena to celebrate not only small, private, local businesses, but institutions set on creatively attracting and keeping our citizens health conscious!

We hope to bring tastefulness where taboo thought resides, awareness in the battle of obesity and poor health practices and appreciation to persons of all ages and walks of life who are rediscovering the greatness in themselves!
